The Triton is initially available only as double cab 4x4 and boasts an all-new common rail direct injection powerplant. The new 2.5 litre, turbocharged, intercooled engine is a much quieter, cleaner and more economical than ever before. | | It also helps in producing a very decent 100 kW at 3 500 rpm and 314 Nm of torque at 2 000 rpm in the below 3.0 litre turbodiesel class. This power and torque does a sufficient job of providing drive for the Triton, but if there is one draw back, it is that the Triton never seems to have a huge amount of urge at any point through the rev range. And the tested figures back this feeling up with the 0-100 km/h sprint coming up in almost 16 seconds and the in-gear acceleration in 5th gear also being a bit on the slow side. | | By simply fitting a plug and play Power Plug to the vehicle, instant urge is safely and reliably added.
