It has been more than a year in the making, many thousands of development kilometres driven and hundreds of hours spent on the dyna, but Dastek Power can now offer you a reliable and independently tested power upgrade for your 2.0 TFSI powered vehicle. |
The market place is littered with claims of cheaper and more powerful upgrades. |
| | | · But how reliable are these claims? · Have they been tested? If so, why not? · Is this just advertising hearsay? · How reliable will your car be in the long run? · Can these cars run on normal pump fuel? · Can they be driven up and down to the coast and under different conditions at will? | |
| Questions you should be asking before having any upgrade performed on your car. |
Dastek can confidently lay claim to having tested these scenarios and they have the performance figures to prove it. Their MKV GTI, when tested at Gerotek using Racelogic Test Equipment, went to 100 km/h in 7.17 seconds, down from 7.83 seconds, the 200 km/h sprint was destroyed in 28.08 seconds, a full 10 seconds quicker than the standard car and top speed jumped up to a eye watering 249.35 km/h true from 230.27 km/h. |
But such is the nature of this upgrade, you don’t have to be an out and out power junkie to be able to enjoy the benefits of fitting a Dastek Power Plug. If you use your vehicle to transport the family long distances, you will enjoy the added driveability and fuel savings. If you tow a jetski, quad or even a caravan, you will appreciate the extra overtaking power. And if you are an out and out power junkie, then you will be thrilled with the newfound performance that can be had from marrying this technology to an award-winning engine. |
| What is the Power Plug? |
The Dastek Power Plug is a fully sealed unit that simply plugs into your vehicles standard ECU. There is no dangerous cutting of wires and modifying of cables under the bonnet to make the unit work. The unit itself is re-programmable and works 100% in conjunction with the Engine Management System (EMS) of your vehicle. Should you no longer want the unit or want to sell your car, you can simply remove it again and all is back to standard. |
| Why Fit A Power Plug? |
The Dastek Power Plug allows skilled technicians to reliably, fine tune and optimise the air / fuel mixture, timing, boost and injector pressures under various loads and driving conditions and thus improve the performance of your car. Most importantly, doing it without affecting any of the electronic safety parameters built into the engine’s electronic control unit (ECU) as set by the manufacturers. |
